It's strange, but all of a sudden, an IP which I had input to the tcp/ip properties suddenly stopped working yesterday.
I have a list of IPs which go 5 up from my gateway (they're static to us in our network properties and haven't changed in 6 years) and one in the middle just stopped working on 1 machine. I didn't try a different machine.
I put a different IP address in and it works fine and the ones above/below the "problem IP" work fine as well, but when I put that one IP address in, it gives me a DNS error when trying to access any website. It doesn't make sense.
I talked to someone and they had the same issue before and the phone company who provides the DSL told them that sometimes an IP will get picked up by someone else on their network. I thought this was strange since it's in my ip range which was provided to me by them.. so I don't have any real info on this issue.
Any ideas?
