I grew up in iOwa and it was once a petty nice place considering the harsh Winter's and hot Summer's not to mention THE MOSQUITOES. For a backward state, iOwa lead the nation with some ground breaking civil rights advancements. And iOwa was one of the first states to legalize marriage equality. The iOwa Supreme Court legalized SS marriage in an unanimous decision back in 2009. One of the first states in the nation to do so. But that was then and now is now. Now, the youth are leaving iOwa in droves with only the farmers and rednecks remaining. You know, those who vote for Trump and attack US capitol buildings. I remember a time when iOwa voted for Obama, twice, and seemed like a fairly good state to raise a family. But like I said, that was then and now is now. Now iOwa has turned into a full on red republican controlled state. They elected a republican governor that ended up with iOwa as one of the worse states in the nation for covid infections, and the governor whose brain was taking orders from Trump's ass. She fudged the numbers with her silly county maps and numeric percentage schemes that resulted in iOwa as a covid infestation. And recently, this same iOwa governor eliminated the face mask requirements apparently in memory of Trump. And the damage continued on.... Next on the republican legislation agenda was to curtail voting in iOwa by restricting early voting and restricting mail-in ballots. And while the republican controlled state was busy keeping people from voting, at the same time those same republicans admitted iOwa was one state that had the most secure elections and highest voter turnout. But the problem was, far too many of those voters were voting for democrats, and that they can not have.
And here they go again.... Now this same republican controlled state has decided as in the movie, to return BACK TO THE FUTURE. Just today, introducing legislation legislative republicans call "The Religious Freedom Bill". Actually, republicans have tried this same stunt before, but back then democrats had some control and stopped them. So here they go again, reintroducing yet another Religious Freedom Bill. Actually, the very same old bill. I guess iOwa republican legislators don't seem to care that people are fleeing iOwa as fast as their little feet will carry them. And that most of those fleeing the state are the youth under 30. Business have no desire to do business in iOwa despite tax perks and financial luring. Many business simply took the money, looked around, and left the state anyway. Then, iOwa decided to lure Hollywood into iOwa and to bring the state the magic of movie making. However, that only lead to an imposter impersonating an actor from the movie franchise "Twilight", to iOwa resulting in charges of sexual exploitation of a child and possession of child pornography. When you're an iOwan, everyone with a California license plate looks like a Movistar. In the end, Hollywood and iOwa made a poor bedfellows. The cameras never came, and the producers rather do the producing somewhere else. iOwa..... I won't even mention the millions in legal fees from iOwa taxpayer funds that this iOwa governor has wasted in court fighting state employees who were fired for being gay, brought the state to court, then won millions in damages. I won't even mention THAT.

Iowa Senate Republicans re-introduced a Religious Freedom Restoration bill that's been shelved in several previous legislative sessions.
"What it does is it says that government must be held to the highest standards before it can infringe on a person's free exercise of religion," said the bill's sponsor, Sen. Dennis Guth.
