iOS Printing to Windows Networked Printers

There seems to be a slew of apps, free and paid for printing over wireless from an iOS device. Does anyone have a suggestion for an office with printers in a windows environment?

Anyone have any experience with Lantronix xPrintServer? I suppose it doesn't really matter if the printers are primarily being used by Windows users if a device such as that just goes out and discovers printers on the LAN and prints directly to the IP. Looks like a decent product, just looking for any first-hand experience or opinions.

If you have a Windows print server, I would just install this on it. I use it at home and it's fine.

Don't know how well it scales to truly huge environments, but it seems to work fine for us and it's free. I wouldn't expect to be a problem for a couple dozen office types printing not-much-stuff.

I tried a Mac OS X version of this and it was flaky. I'd lose the ability to print from time to time. Plus it is moot for me anyway since it requires keeping a machine on 24/7. (Neither my Macs nor my PCs are on 24/7.)

Finally I just bought an AirPrint enabled printer... but that's also flaky. Works perfectly with my Macs but occasionally I can't see it on my Windows PC. Arrggh. The stupid part is that it's the same brand and uses the same ink cartridges as the other one, and is even from the same line.

So, I actually have these two separate but similar colour inkjet multifunction printers of the same brand on my system right now for this reason. One is seen by both my Windows PCs and my Macs all the time, but it is not AirPrint enabled so it does work with my iOS devices. The other is AirPrint enabled so it works with my iOS devices, and it also works with my Macs, but sometimes doesn't work with my PCs. I'll have to sit down for an hour or two to try to troubleshoot this some time.

It's all very irritating.
