Why do people say this utterly ridiculous statement like it's true? I don't recall any laws based on "honor your father and mother". Our first amendment gives us the absolute right to break the first commandment. There's certainly no laws against coveting. The only commandments that we also have laws against are kill and steal, and every society has laws against that.

Agreed.

More importantly, has anyone had any experience with this guitar and/or brand of low-end electric guitars? I'm thinking about picking (no pun intended) up one myself. :p

For that price it's okay. Don't be looking at it if you have serious playing thoughts though. The description for everything was very generic, which means all the parts and stuff are very generic. The strings will go out of tune pretty easy, so you'll have to retune every time you pick it up, and probably after 2 hours of play. The pickups have a lot of fuzz and background noise, but not too much to make it unplayable.

It's basically a little lower than a Squier Strat.
10w amp is okay. Nothing great, but good enough for a practise amp in your room.

Good price, you get what you pay for.

Then perhaps you shouldn't have religious+political material in your sig. Don't like people calling you on your beliefs? Don't broadcast them.

Not impossible that the guitar is playable but not likely either. Best bet is bring a guitar playing friend around to used music stores and find a good used unit. I hate to see a beginner saddled with a permanantly out of tune finger mangler. Doesn't need to be a name brand or pretty just playable. I've found new combos for about $130. Used for around $80 or so. I got a nice kids acoustic for $30. Its very fun to play but it was the only one that was playable on the whole showroom floor so skip mailorder "cheap" guitars.

Can you recommend a place to get decent used ones like you mentioned? The one I've been using is a cheapie electric with 30w amp that I got a couple years ago.

I go to music stores that carry new/used and swapmeets and pawn shops. Perhaps newspaper ads also.
