iomega zip password protect

I've been using password protection on my zip disks and have been having a problem where it won't let me unprotect my disk- says the disk drive is in use. It's not, so I keep rapidly hitting the enter key 10-50 times and it eventually unlocks. Is there a patch out there to fix this problem or something else I'm missing?Text

symptoms of the Click of Death... If I were you I'd transfer the data onto another medium like cd-rw. With the CoD even using disks in another drive won't work.
