I'm sure someone with a God complex will tell me this isn't the place to post but since most users don't look anywhere else but in this forum this is the BEST place to post it.

Remember that $50 rebate for Iomega 4X/4X/6X External USB CD Recorder?

Well, it is for a specific product number - 31475. Seems Iomega barely modified the packaging and name of this model including the model number(now 11128) yet did nothing to the actual drive itself. Translation: the rebate is only good for an OLD model. If you go directly into their product section this older model doesn't show up, making potential buyers think this is the drive relating to the rebate. The old one does show up in their store though, but we know expensive in store prices are.

Pretty deceptive marketing if you ask me..

I'm on the phone trying to resolve all for a measly $50.

Boy, I sure agree Iomega is not the company it used to be (and the same goes for their products).

Jnmunsey--If there's a model number to be found on the box, it's news to me. I've looked it over and I can't find one. But I wouldn't put it past these whoremongers to try and pull a fast one.

VERY disappointing, Iomega. How many customers can you afford to lose?

[Remember Syquest? They used to pull this kind of thing all the time, too. Whatever happened to those guys, anyway?]

Didn't Iomega get hit with a class action law suit a few years ago? I remember getting a settlement notice for them over not paying their rebates on time.
