Oh, by the way, Iomega touts it with the 'Burn-proof' technology which to my knowledge has been trademarked by Plextor.

Please, please, a clarification would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Yeah the Iomaega CD-RW is more or less a reboxed and re-branded Plextor.. or in discuise.. well to my knowlwedge it is anyway.. but they are priced a little bit diff cause of the software and the company names.. so thats the main difference.. the drives are pretty much the same from what I have heard around here..

Hope this helps even if it is coming out of my backside..

Albert.

Thank you for the reply.

So it is not a Liteon or a Sanyo reboxed drive as I read in some of the other threads? Can I actually call Buy.com or Iomega or Plextor to confirm?

Would they be willing to confirm? :p

BurnProof is Sanyo, JustLink is Ricoh, Acer has recently come up with their own flavor, trademarks.

<<BurnProof is Sanyo>>

other companies like Plextor licence this technology from Sanyo.

Remember brands that rebadge may change the model they put their name on midway through a product run. This weeks Iomega/Creative/whatever burner may be a plextor this week and a liteon the next
