Hello everyone I'm have a bit of a problem updating the firmware for my Iomega drive that I recently purchased.
When I attempt to run the firmware update .exe I get a message that pops up reading as follows, "Error initializing WNASPI32.DLL"

I went and found the file on my computer so that's not the problem. I am currently running firmware revision 1.03 and was attempting to update to version 1.04 as a test before I tried to flash the drive and give it the Plextor rev 1.07. Has anyone else had a similar problem or have any idea what this means. I have a feeling its something really simple that I've overlooking but not sure.

Thanks,

You need to update your ASPI layer. You can go to Adaptecs website and get the update there, but it requires an Adaptec SCSI card or Adaptec EZCD Creator to be installed on your system in order for it work. One way around this is to install drivers for any Adaptec SCSI card off your Windows CD, then run the update, and then uninstall the drivers once the ASPI layer has been updated. Hope this helps.
