quick installation question, Do I have to install the zipcd software first before connecting the cdrw with ide cables? Thx. I must know because I currently dont have a cdrom to install the drivers for it.

There was a little card in the bo that said STOP in big letters. Says make sure that you install software first. The answer is yes.

It doesn't matter.
I didn't install the software that came with the drive until after I installed it.

Couple BIOS changes at boot up when I put it in and I was up and running. Of course to actually *write* something you need to install a burning utility. But the drive was reading just fine without loading anything from the included CDs.
