Ha! We still have 2 Bernoulli drives in my lab. One's hooked up to a P3 800 with a 12x CDR. Talk about ironic...:)

MOD problably doesn't want to lock this thread because of the MORONS...yes, MORONS...who post "in before the lock"...talk about RETARDED.

Buffboy dug up this thread to post "sniff, sniff...I smell a lock coming." on a post that was already 4 hours dead when he posted (read 3-4 pages down on the forum).

Buffboy and MrCraphead, please say; "I am sofa king we todd did."

This post is/was a fairly useful discussion of possible mechanisms behind an insane deal.

If you missed the 99.99 dollar deal, try the deal for TDK brand of this same drive at buy.com for $220 (with $50 MIR) plus $30 off $150 (you also get a pack of CDR's)= about $150 net. The deal is not near as good, but probably the best available.

The "in before the lock" (IBTL) is prohibited, isn't it? What's the deal? Annoying, yes, but prohibited?

Here's an update.

Just thought you guys might like to know that the rebates from Iomega have are coming in without problems for people. I bought 2 of the drives on 12-31-00 and my rebates are here today. Both $30 rebates.

Gosh that was a sweet deal. I sold one on a "major auction place that begins with an E" for $206.50, so my first drive cost me like $14.00 after rebates and the other drive sale.

Wooooooo Hooooooo!!!!

:)

FYI

For those who did not get the Drive and not fast enough to get the raincheck (provided that you know that your local Compusa offer raincheck), you can try this. Go to the store and ask for the drive, tell them you got the raincheck. They will pull a list of all the people that got the raincheck and check. Quickly memorize any one name on the list. Since youd did not get the raincheck, you certainly are not on the list. But you already memorize one name. Come back again and use the name you memorized. This might work.

Good Luck...

wow sounds like a good plan, scam them so they never offer rainchecks again on good deals. what a selfish, jerky thing to do, i'm glad the rest of the world's not like you.

Can you tell me what is the obsession to "get in" before the lock? I don't think this one is going to get locked because it has been around for 3 weeks now and it hasn't been. If you guys can't contribute to the deal or at least comment on it, then why post?
