Iomega's site says "Zip 100 ATAPI Drives will not work at this time with the VIA VT82C(686B) Chips. This also affects motherboards with the KT133a core logic chipset. There is a timing issue between the Chipset and Iomega Zip 100 drive. This is an issue with the newer Zip 100 ATAPI units."
I didn't think this issue would affect a Win98SE system that had the very newest VIA chipset drivers installed(Hyperion 4in1 v4.45), but I'm seeing problems on a KT133a chipset motherboard when I use the Zip drive. Iomega has a Beta patch available for this issue that looks like it patches the VIA chipset drivers, but it's dated 20-JUN-2001. Wouldn't installing that patch overwrite the new VIA chipset drivers with older ones? Anybody know more about this problem? Thanks.
