IOBit System Care suddenly installed itself

I had IOBit's Smart Defrag 3 installed and had a popup to install version 4 which I clicked on to take me to the download but System Care and their Uninstaller suddenly installed themselves without any prompts. Has anybody else experienced this?

No but were you running under an admin account at the time? that could explain why it was installed like that.

It was probably installed along with the new version of Smart Defrag. Most likely as a check box somewhere during the install process, or possibly even as a "hidden" option in the standard installer.

This account is an admin account. I hadnt even downloaded the update to version 4. I think its time I made this account be limited.

It looks like Smart Defrag requires admin priv's to run.
