Seems like an easy way to maximize game performance. Found on "Major Geeks". Am considering giving it a try.

What version of Windows are you using?

Have you looked in Task Manager to see if any process is really using a noticeable amount of CPU time? If they are all using 0% this program isn't likely to help.

Most programs that claim to optimize Windows don't do anything useful and could cause crashes from stopping processes or services that should be left alone.

I used to run one of these programs, believe it was the one from AMD themselves, back when I had an Athlon x2 7750 and a 8800gt, then a 4870. It took BF:BC2 from 40ish fps to 45ish fps, not much of a jump but just enough to make it slightly more playable in multiplayer. Was a real hassle to use though, every time I turned it off I would have to restart.

I've looked at "super-duper game-performance-booster" software like this before, and honestly, it's incredibly useless for anyone who gives a crap about maintaining their computer in the first place.

Unless you have a million background processes running on your computer, you should be fine. You'd be better off going into Run > Msconfig, and disabling any unecessary programs that start up with your computer. If you're one of those people who have ~20 different programs running in your task tray, then you need to go through them and decide which ones you don't need (because there WILL be programs you don't need, I don't know anyone who has that many applications running at once that are completely 100% important).

Thanks for the replies...I won't download it. The Asus is used only for gaming...unless I want to download a mod, I do not go on line with it except to update drivers. win updates etc. Don't have any "extra" programs except for games.
