The Chase shop has some killer prices on their cases! I assume that they just forward the order to some distributor or supplier for fulfillment. Best part is no shipping charge - always a plus on cases.

I just ordered an Antec SX830 for $79.47 shipped - Not bad

They also list Enlight and Inwin cases with great prices.

I guess I will find out if they ship or stall me.

Eyor,
I think the Onvia-Antec KS282 deal is hard to beat. Onvia is very reputable. I hope Chase comes through for me.

I have the Antec KS282 which I purchased from Onvia. I have a second one on order (it was supposed to be here today, I complained and they credited my acct $15). I think it's a fantastic case. Very easy to work with, highly rated power supply, plenty of room.

Oddly enough they have the same case with a 250 watt ps but they charge a few bucks more for it!

It doesn't come with any fans however, so hop on over to Outpost and have a couple delivered overnight.

Super Rob, the S500 is good, but I don't believe the top actually comes off, so you can't access the innards from the top.

Hmmm... I am looking to start building a new computer for the first time. I am young, so money is tight. Should I get that antec from onvia? What else should I pick up while there to get $25 off?
oh, btw: Tomshardware reviewed a cool case, a submarine case or something they called it, and the people that were selling it also had other freaky stuff like that dog and kitty case.

Is the PS in the Antec case approved for Athalons? This is from the AnAndtech Athalon buyers guide regarding power supplie:

<< Conclusion

All of the power supplies that could boot Test System #2 are more than fit to power your new Athlon system, but if we're going to crown a winner it would have to be the Antec PP-303X. There was a noticeable difference in stability between the units that placed at the top of our System Stress Test and those that came in at around 95%, while they all provided for stable operation, some were more prone to causing crashes under heavy stress than others.

huesmann:

S500 top comes off front. Two screws in front of case (after plastic front panel is removed) held in place by "slots" at back.

Yep, top definitely comes off of the S500. Although it comes with a 235W PS, vs 250.

The main improvement with the S500 over the A500 is that the PS has been relocated for better clearance.

The Antec KS282 with the 300W from Onvia is a nice case for the money. My only complaint is the "hidden" floppy slot didn't quite line up with a Teac I used....had to elevate it a bit. Very easy to work in.

I Have a question on these cases !! how do you know how much room there is between the power supply and motherboard is the case wide enough to put alpha in ,because right now i have a case that i tried two heatsinks and neither fit in my case because of the power supply
and the other thing is i noticed that alot of power supplys wires are thin in the cheap boxes so what do you do when you get this without looking at it.

Grass,

I noted that the power supply had been moved up higher for clearance on the S500.

But just so you don't say no one ever did anything for you. Here, I took one of my machines apart and ...

Case width = 193mm, but allowing for the motherboard mounting panel takes it to approx. 181mm for the interior width.

Power supply clears the top of a Slot 1 CPU/FAN/HS by approx. 15mm.

Chase now has the Inwin S700 listed for 47.25 shipped, The S700 is the S500 with a fancier front.
Inwin S700 $47.25

Inwin
Go to Products/Mid Tower, to check out the S700.
I bought a couple of the S500 from Chase when they had them for $43 shipped, and I received them promptly. The cheapest price on pricewatch for the S500 is $43 plus $15 shipping, the S700 isn't even listed.
