InvisionBoard Skins

For those of you running InvisionBoard forums on your sites, who do you recommend to create a custom skin, maybe install a few hacks, and install my board once version 2.0 final release is ready to roll?

I would learn to do it yourself. It will make running your board so much easier, and is also quite a fun hobby.

I'd be willing to help out any way that I can.

Generous offer, my friend, but I don't think I'm gonna be going under the hood of my board and trying to tweak it in any way. I see major downside potential with that scenario. Better to leave designing and hacking to those who design and hack.

Regarding Dixiesys, I would recommend reading this and switching from Ensim to DirectAdmin.

Have you given any thought to getting a merchant credit card account.
RossMAN, RossMAN.......I feel like I'm being stalked 😉 .
I did read Gary's reply, and I would readily make the switch from Ensim to DirectAdmin, if I understood all that behind the scenes stuff that is required to do it successfully. I neither know nor understand the intricacies of coding and what not.
As for a merchant account, I'm still using Paypal. With maybe two exceptions in two years, I hear no complaints from my customers about using Paypal. And now, with Paypal not requiring an account to make a payment, I wonder about the advantages of having an additional merchant account.
Bottom line for me: I have my site up and running for two years now. I just need someone knowledgeable and trustworthy to handle the occasional maintenance and upgrades. Upgrading my IPB board, for example.

I'm not sure you understand how simple it is...

Check out a few sites.

www.invisionize.com offers TONS of hacks, and they give you step by step instructions on how to install them. All you have to do is back up the .php file you are editing, and if something goes wrong, just re-upload the original. This site also gives a ton of skinning advice, etc.

Another good site is www.invisionthings.com. They also offer a ton of support, and free downloads. They have also made very handy skinning guides, that teach you how the system works.

Seriously...if you're afraid of going under the hood and messing something up, it shouldn't be a concern. All you have to do is backup a file before you start editing it, and all is well.

If you end up paying someone to do it for you, I'd just go with Inivision itself. Pay for the subscription, and they will do everything for you.

Thanks for the links, dmbforums. You might be right. Maybe it is easier to do than I think it is. I'll look into it and see if my comfort level lets me try.
If not, I'll probably either find someone to do so, or contact Invision about their service.
