Investment help

The wife & I only have 1 grandchild, and we would like to get him interested in saving and investing. He is 12 years old and looking for some books that would be appropriate for his age. Try to show him that saving and investing at his age will make him better off when he gets older. We would give him some seed money, and hopefully he understands enough and can make decisions on his own with his mom looking over his shoulder. Any recommendations?

I don't think you need to over-complicate the investment lesson - just teach about index funds and diversification, and consider opening a UGMA account with the seed money. Depending on your financial situation, you could sweeten the deal for him with some investment matching: for every dollar he's saves in it, you'll double it, or something like that.
