Invested $324 in AMD stocks a few days ago

any thoughts about this? It's been steadily fluctuating lately, but going up for the most part

EDIT: I bought 20 shares....$50 comission went to Charles Shwabb 🙁

AMD has a history of being very volatile. Mind you don't lose your shirt 🙂

Still, I made some good change on it 2 years ago when it dropped to $3. My only regret there is that I didn't buy more and hold it just a little longer. C'est la vie.

commissions alone will kill you! 50$ to buy, 50$ to sell, your 20shares have to increase by 5$ just to cover the commission alone.

So, you took $324 - $50 = $274 and invested it in a stock... When you factor in the $50 commision to sell it, you need an alomst 40% gain to get back to $324?

You are really bad at math if you saw this as a smart investment...

I see the shares going up to at least 20 within a year, i need them to be at $18 for me to break even....i figured since i had some extra $$, i'd play with em

only way this could turn out to be a good investment is if you don't plan on selling the stock for another 5 years at least.

Take this as a good experience......

Never invest in stock if you can't buymore than 100 shares. If you really want to make money, increase that o 500 shares.Your investment is just way to small to get a good gain. Just because it went up 20 one year doe snot mean it will happen again.

If you really want to this a better way, I advise you invest in penny stock (stock under $5). That way you can buy a good number of shares, so your rise in stock equates to a bigger gain.

Is it safe to say the minimum amount you should put into the stock market is 5000 if you want to see any significant returns? Or is it higher/lower...

I have a few shares of AMD and ATI.

The AMD stocks usually go up just before X-mass. Nothing to do with there processors but more for there flash memory I believe.

Expect it to go down after new year.
