That was a very cool read. Thanks for the link. Probably have consumed my body weight in General's chicken over the years.

Not a big fan of most americanized "chinese" food. Lots of added sugar for no good reason, and so much of it is deep fried.

General Tso's chicken would be the prime example. It's basically deep fried sugared up battered chicken.

Wow. Gen Tso is one of my favorite take outs when I visit the local Chinese Restaurant.

I love General Tso's! The website is slow to load. Was it named after a real general?

My family and I always argue on the name. Is it General Teesoo? Or General Towel? (My best pronunciation)

Ah!

Peng chose the name to honor General Tso, a famous military leader from Hunan who helped put down the Taiping Rebellion as well as other rebellions in the 1800s during the Qing Dynasty. He was well respected not only for his successes on the battlefield, but also for his contributions to Chinese agricultural science and education.

Not what is served in America, the creator didn't think it was...but yes originated from Taiwan created by a Chinese chef.

Just finished watching the documentary. Very well done.
