Hello. I'm Greg and I live in a small college town on the west coast. I was an active participant of ATF, mostly ATOT, GenHard, and HighTech for many years during the early '00s in middle school, but I've been away ever since. I've decided to try returning to ATF, realizing that a lot may have changed since then and many of the folks I used to know are gone. Anyway, I hope to meet some of you and feel free to send me a PM or two.

I'm in the process of finishing my undergrad schooling now after taking a few years off to crash classes in other subjects at a few different schools. Along the way, I discovered how cool social sciences are, found that math gets a lot less boring after calc, and realized what people are doing when they do art.

Why do you want us to ask you a question so badly?

What are people doing when they do art? Arting?

not sure what you're asking...
I began as CS, then did Env. Stud. and Landscape Theory, then Athropology at and Cognitive Sci. at Cal. But who knew UC classes (even Cal) set the bar so low? I may have learned more from my own unguided reading, but sitting in on 128 courses helped give me phrases and concepts to think about/read about.

Um, short answer, I learned that doing art is a pretty damn rigorous activity and actual artists (not the vernacular i-made-a-pretty-picture artists), have a more global and well-rounded set of knowledge and skills than many people.

Did you ever wonder why the word gruntled isnt used more? Plenty of people are disgruntled, but you never hear of anyone being gruntled. What are your thought on this.
