this is a quote of me on another forum (which will remain nameless :p) i would love some answers to the questions that will follow and i think u will enjoy the issue in the quote

hmmm no improvment maybe the card is under clocked at stock? its a "Made by ATI" version.....

Code:
Graphics Card Core Clockrate: 378 MHz (MegaHertz)
Graphics Card Memory Clockrate: 338 MHz (MegaHertz)

i know something is really really wrong cuz over at Anandtech they have a stock 9800NP scoring WAY higher then myself and mines a pro :S there NP is scoring 38 fps (which is 38000 aqua marks yes?) which is roughly 6000 higher then my score with my Pro :S

now that could also be there rig i guess but i dont think the .8 ghz theres is faster is gonna make up for the extra ram i have and even if it did i dont think there would be this huge of a gap

Well isint that weird..... i had to RMA 2 R98Ps cuz of faulty fans so im always checking to see if its going i just checked and not only is it still going fine the card is barely even warm something is off but i dont know....

i had just finished uninstalling my drivers for my video card and reinstalling them as advised on the nameless forum when i made that post the weird part is the heat but anyway im trying to get my card upto spec with out ocing it any tips/comments would be lovely

~1GHz isn't peanuts, and it may well account for a 6fps difference. Unless you have an Athlon 64, then also remember that Athlons seem to generally outperform P4's in games. AT uses 512MB RAM in their benches, and I don't think extra memory beyond that will make a difference (and certainly not enough to account for a ~1GHz CPU deficit).

Do you have an Athlon XP 2000+, or an Athlon XP at 2GHz?

You sure you don't have AA enabled in the ATi control panel?

i have AAAF set to AP so that isint the problem and im using a AMD Athlon XP 2400+ which clocks at exactly 1999mhz as well as having 768 of DDR 333 but your right the extra ram wont catch it up i wasint thinking :) just for clearification my specs are as follows (u can also find em in my prim rig in my sig)

AMD Athlon XP 2400+
768 PC2700 DDR Ram
Asus A7V8X-X
Radeon 9800Pro (CATALYST 3.9)
SB Audigy Gamer
Win XP Pro SP1
DX 9.0b

and remember all parts are stock :)
