Intranet on a MacLan

I am pretty new to the mac platforms and we are running a lan/wan here with mac's. Now I have to make a intranet for contacts, address's etc...
We do have a t1 here but I am hazy about how to setup a local intranet here, can someone please explain or just give me a idea of how this should be setup
