Interviewing for some jobs in New York

I am a law student interviewing for some summer intern jobs in NYC for this summer. Bought a couple nice suits (one charcoal pin, and one dark blue pin), what color shoes should I get, how much is reasonable to spend? Thoughts?

Can't go wrong with black and your charcoal suit, red or yellow tie.

I've always been a big fan of johnston & murphy.

Black! Goes with everything.

Lace-Ups

Wing-Tip Style.

Allen Edmonds - About $295/pr
These are excellent shoes that are extrmemly comfortable as well. Will last a lifetime, they shine up very nice, hold a shine, and don't crack or crease.

Not the most hip/trendy styles but a classic style of shoe.

Just go find a shiny pair of laced black shoes. Don't get those black leather shoes with those godly fancy designs on them though. Just go to DSW, or some other shoe store and get a $50 pair of shoes.

edit...i know it is a given, but STAY AWAY FROM PAYLESS SHOES!

Get some decent shoes-my brother worked in Manhattan for a while, and your shoes are eaten due to so much walking.

Best bet-pick up some Coach black dress shoes for $100 at Century 21. We found some Ferregamo's the other day in my size for $95 there! Get a decent pair of shoes-don't buy garbage!

Where's brigden when you need him? 🙂

I totally agree 🙂

No pin stripes for interview suit imo.

Agree with the black, but I guess you would have to pay retail for Johnston & Murphy. I went to MJM Designer Shoes (similar to DSW) and they actually have Bruno Magli. Go to discount stores OP.

depends on the suit and especially the tie and shirt, let alone the tie knot and fit of the shirt which most people ignore. Even a decent tie not worn properly will look terrible. OP, if you have some money to spend, my bro just went Bloomingdales the other day and they had Canali for 50% off.

Nothing wrong with striped suits. If you know how to dress, stripes should not be a problem, however, if youa re buying a striped suit from Marshells, where teh stripes a more than an inch aprt, then you have a problem.
