Whats the best way to get around the question..."What do you consider as you minimum annual salary?" without giving an exact number?

I go in prepared for what people in that position with those responsibilities should make and I tell them well average salary for this position in this area is xxxxx.xx. I don't think I'm average so I'm worth more than that but given today's economic climate I'd be willing to accept a figure around there.
