I work for a large school district and we have recently installed Trend Micro Interscan Web Security Suite. Along with this we installed a CISCO Content Engine (Caching) using ICAP. After this was installed onto the network, our connection to the internet slowed down to a crawl and certain websites no longer worked with IE.
We have over 3,000 computers and 15,000+ students and staff within our district. To explain our network, we have a Extreme core switch at our main district building, that connects to all the schools through a fiber connection. Our 4 T1 lines connect at the main district building and all computers go through this to connect to the internet.
I know that Trend Micro scans the HTTP, and it will slow down the internet as it has to scan all requests but does anyone have any ideas to at least speed it up. We use a Caching device to cache the WebPages, but that seems not to help. The server is connected to the main core switch through fiber.
Has anyone else used or using Trend Micro Interscan Web Security Suite (IWSS)? Anyone have any ideas about what to do next? IWSS allows for load sharing among multiple IWSS severs and this is one idea to go about it, but it will cost money that we don't have to spend on new servers.
Thanks
