Hey Just wondering if anyone else out there is looking for interships, and if so, are u haveing a tough time, I have been looking since mid-feb, and so far i got nothing, I have a 3.5, with a host of things that i do in school, and I have job experience also. Most say they are not hiring or something like that.
Ohh well i guess i will keep looking, and yes i know there is a thread for the unemployed, which I am not. Just looking for bigger and better things. I have alos posted my resume at numerous websites, and again nothing. This sucks
PS. if u know anyone or any site/person/ or anything that could me, and others looking for internships that would be great

What is your major? That would help me.

Is there a job/career center at your school?

You could also research gov't positions.

you'll probably end up having to find an internship through networking - talk to profs, alumni

Got a summer internship at IBM, but I only got it this year becasue I worked there last summer. Companies are really cutting down on interns. My friends are having a really tough time getting them too. Hang in there.

There is absolutely nothing available. I've even talked to people I know that have decently high positions at large corporations.

i go to Univ of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, and the placement dept, doesn't do much for interns, because getting an internship is not required, therefore all they do is post your resume, which i have done many other places also. But yeah i am still trying, and still talking to profs, I might have to give in, and get my dad, who knows a number of people who run IT firms in and around pittsburgh to talk to them. This was my last resort, cuz i wanted to get it on my own, but that isn;t working.

Neither I nor my friends (I'm an ECE, they are ECE / Physics double majors and a MechE) have had any luck through the normal channels. I'll be working for the same company I did last summer (not a thrilling job, or related to ECE, but not bad) which I got through connections, one of my friends will be doing research, another is unemployed, and the MechE got his job by going to some place and telling the owner to give him a job. I don't think anyone is having much luck. Other friends of mine in different majors are also having no luck. We go to CMU

Yea the job market is just horrible... I'm an Operations Research/ Econ major at Columbia, 3.9 gpa with a lot of experience.... applied to over 100 jobs/internships, didn't get one callback.... so sad... watch me end up selling cell phones this summer :(
