I thought i had a internship for the summer but the company fell through. I now need to find a new intership and fast. I am an accounting finance major and looking for a strong intership in an accounting firm(big 4 or not) or a financial group like northwestern financial. Am i too late?

It's a little on the late side, but far from hopeless. I'd check in with your career counseling office at school and see what activity is still going on.

For the summer? you are definitely too late for the Big 4 firms... they usually confirm their internships late last yr/early this yr....

Try the smaller firms in your area, they might be a little behind

When is a good time to get an internship in your major? I mean year wise, second year? Third or fourth?

When I was with one of the Big 4 firms, we almost always make offers to our interns after they graduate... I have never heard of an intern without an offer (even those we don't think was that good)... So definitely try to get one, doesnt hurt to call the recruiters and try...

yeah i feel pretty screwed now. There is an opportunity and Northwestern mutual nearby that i just went to a meeting to. They have been conducting interviews since September but they are still accepting. It sounds like an awesome job but I don't know how i will fare. I have a good GPA, excellent communication skills, and am in a lot of actives, but i have no work experience that others might.
