Internship problem..Advice?

I had an internship with Troma Films two years ago: I was scheduled to go in twice a week but, since there wasn't much work to be done, my supervisor suggested that I start calling in before heading to the office. I called in every week and continued to go there sporatically until my supervisor relocated to the West Coast division of Troma Films. He told me to continue contacting Milly, an alcoholic mailroom clerk, to double check if she ever needed help but she didn't cooperate at all: she would never return my calls nor would she read her emails. Eventually, I just stopped going because I was getting tired of the charade. Now it may sound like I'm a terrible intern but a friend of mine (and fellow intern) was going through the same b.s. There was simply no communication when our boss went to the west coast. I knew that I was a good intern because I was getting compliments left and right and I wasn't slacking off. I technically ended the internship but not without trying to work something out first.

So the other day I was at a party and ran into a very attractive and nice former coworker (well, she was an actual employee). It turns out that my boss left to cali to find another job and started a production company there. He didn't leave my former company any prior notice so the internship department fell apart. My problem is that I recently saw an ad on their site asking for interns and replied - the new guy there seems to be responsible and asked me to come in for an interview... I listed the prior internship on my resume but should I mention that I worked there during the interview? I'd hate to explain the whole story about why I stopped showing up and would prefer to just not mention it - can I or should I do that?

P.S. I did not take the internship for school credit and got it on my own and not through my department
edit: edited for clarity..

Well since you are nice about it. If I read your story correctly here is my advice:

If the drunk lady wouldn't reply/talk to you, she probably didn't keep the other guy informed of what was going on either. So mention that you worked there, and when asked how things worked out just explain you were willing to work as much as they wanted, but that despite your best efforts your replacement supervisor did not keep you well informed. If he doesn't mention the problem, though, don't bring it up yourself. Just act like it all went well.

Hey,
Thanks for replying.. I corrected the chronology and tried to clear things up but I just noticed that I used a lot of run on sentences - I need to take a nap ;)
You're right about the lady and that's why I'm worried - I'm afraid that someone was asking her "Hey, did the intern email us?" and that she would simply reply "no" instead of actually reading her mail or checking her messages.. And I'd HATE going into an interview immediately blaming someone that works there, know what I mean? That's why this situation feels weird to me..
