Internet Voting

There has been some talk in the news on this subject recently, but I think that as the internet in general becomes more secure and in wider use, it will become a very big topic. I think that internet voting would cause a very important shift in voting patterns in favor of liberalism and the democratic party (or possibly third parties/independants).

My reasoning is that younger people tend to be more liberal and also tend to vote less. Seniors are the most conservative and also vote the most. I think that most young people would be more likely to vote if they could do it simply and quickly over the internet.

Of course conservatives would hate this and will do everything they can to block ever letting this happen.

It is pretty obvious that I consider myself liberal-leaning and so am probably somewhat biased, thus, the poll. Lets see what the anandtech community stats would be...

edit: The top three internet voting answers are intended to convey that you would vote X, but only if you could have the convenience of voting by internet.

if i had the option, i would vote on the interent. But if i dont have that option, i would still vote. Democratic

internet voting would be funny because it would get cracked/hacked and some unknown candidate would get 10X more votes than the number of people in the whole united states

I don't vote straight ticket. If I like the candidate, I'll vote for'em doesn't matter to me if they're Republican or Libertarian.
