Internet video: instead of full monitor screen, want full browser - is that possible?

I've searched the net and I'm afraid I'm using poor terminology or something because I'm not finding what I want.

What I want to do: at sites like Hulu, YouTube, etc, when I use the "expand" button it fill my 24" monitor and the picture becomes grainy (naturally, limitation of source definition). So instead of sharp and small, or large and grainy, I'd like to choose something in between the two but I don't know how to make that happen.

What would be perfect is the ability to have a video expand to the size of my browser rather than my monitor. Then I could play the video any size I wanted. Any thoughts on how to do that?

Thank you very much,

Usually those flash videos are in their own windows on the page. I know with hulu you can pop out and resize the window then. but other than that, not really much you can do.

Actually, you may try zooming in on the page. Under your view drop down.

9 times out of 10, zooming in will still show you grainy video. There isn't a universal solution to what you're asking for since everyone codes a little differently, every site that uses its own media player (even if they are all using universal languages like flash, activeX, or html5 :p ) will have unique ways to expand it. What I would do in your case is either a) see if your browser will support a third party extension (the way firefox does) that will keep all video within your browser (dunno if one exists, but it never hurts to check) or b) use a second monitor.

Might try adjusting the resolution or maybe adjusting your video card settings. Could be a different video card can help. You using an HD Video Card?

I use HD Intel integrated video and it looks pretty good on my 18.5" HD widescreen monitor in 720p. Never tried it on a TV. My monitor is only 720P so I have no option there.

I wonder if you downloaded MS Video Player 11 if it would make any difference.
