I have a home wireless network. The main computer works fine and my daughters laptop works fine but my wife's computer when on the internet times out as she is reading her mail or advancing to the next webpage or going to a link. This after only a few seconds. It doesn't only happen. she can be on for 10 to 20 minutes without a problem then happen every minute or only a few seconds. The other 2 computers are not effected.
All computers are using XP Pro SP2 and FireFox brower. Their must be some setting somewhere that is not set right. On my wife's computer she has no problems with off line apps working.
 
I assume the affected computer is also using the wireless network? Have you checked to see what kind of signal strength it's getting?
