Internet text in italics??

doesn't matter which browser, all the plain black text in IE, FF, and opera is in italics. it was fine a couple days ago...but my not so computer savvy dad was using it yesterday and might have done something to it. i reinstalled FF and it's still in italics. suggestions?

Let's start simple. First try this:
In IE, go to View --> Encoding and select "Auto Select"

I did a quick google search and saw something similar to this, try opening up IE -> tools -> internet options, under the general tab there is a fonts button at the bottom, fiddle around there.

EDIT: upon further inspection, Firefox has a fonts setting in tools -> options as well

If not yet fixed, try this:
go to your fonts folder and copy/make a back up of these fonts somewhere:
Arial (do this one first and if not fixed try the nex two)
Courier New
Times New Roman

Delete the font from your fonts folder. restart. then reinstall it back (copy the backup back into the fonts folder)

whatever change was made must have been a simple 2 key combo or whatever...i'll try doing a system restore

One of those fonts got corrupted. i'll bet if you open Word or word pad, and select one of those fonts, the "Normal" option won't be there (you know, normal, italics, bold..)
