(Internet stream) Radio 'PVR' (or 'PAR') software recommendation

As the title suggests, I'm looking for some software that can let you pause a live internet radio stream (MMS stream). That is, it'll resume from exactly where it left off, say if I have to leave the room or something.

Right now, I can use something like HiDownload to download the stream as it's being broadcast, but I can't play back the file at the same time!

TIA

Doesn't make sense. If you can pause it, it would no longer be live would it?

What you can do is possibly record or store it.

Play back the file at the same time? Why not just monitor the stream in real time while it is being recorded.

If you have to leave the room - then catch it later from your recording. You can't turn someone elses live broadcast on and off - only the source can do that.

I guess I didn't explain it properly. Have you ever used a TIVO? Where you can 'pause' a live broadcast and then resume from where you left off. That is essentially what I'm after for the live radio stream. I can't see it as being too hard to do particularly and I'm puzzled as to why there aren't any popular media players that can do this.

At present, I find that I can record the stream, but I can't listen to it until I've stopped the recording.
