Internet speed in Windows 7 gets really slow as time goes on

Anyone else experience this? When I restart fresh everything runs normally as it should--but after a few hours the internet will slow to a crawl and just go in and out at times.

Any suggestions?

None of this happened before my switch to windows 7, and it doesn't affect any of the computers in our office either.

In that case I'd say it's a software bug not related to windows 7 -- I haven't restarted my box in weeks (at least) with no problems. I haven't seen any other reports of w7 internet slowing down for others, so I'd take a look at what programs you've installed (on purpose or possibly not) since upgrade

you may want to install windows updates...

Agree. My Win 7 box I'm using right now hasn't been rebooted in over a week and still downloads today as fast as it did last Wednesday, just after a reboot. Something else is amiss.

First step try on a temp. bases a Wired connection. A Wireless connection is not a good thing to rely upon for assessing Network situations since it is affecting by signals in the air (yours and the neighbors) that not under your control.

I have few Win 7 wired computers that are used through the whole day counting on Internet connection and they perform very well.

I have few Wireless too, but none is used all day (or many hours in a row) on a constant bases. For the period of times that the Wireless used it is stable within reason.

As an example, after 5pm when many neighbors come form work and start to use their Wireless, mine is Not as stable as it is during the day when very few people are around.

Looks like when I disconnect from my wireless network and reconnect, the speeds pick up again. Sounds like a driver issue? I'll go and look for some updates.
