Hello

I'm thinking of moving out to the mountains in Nevada. (around Lake Tahoe).

I was wondering if my internet connection will be noticeably different. You can get high speed cable up there.

I do day trading, so I care about small differences in latency.

Can anyone give me any advice about this? will there be any noticeable difference?

While it's true that the distance between sender and receiver matter it shouldn't be enough for you to notice.
 
We can tell you stories and you can dream and have a lot of wishful thinking, but it all depends on what service is available on the specific spot in the "woods".

I have a spot in the woods somewhere and I get better service there than my service the heart of NYC not far from where the real trading is done.

Find the ZIP code and search what is available there.
 
Make sure that you can get service at the exact address you are moving to. Lots of areas have broadband available in the area, but many angry people that can't get it at their address.
