I was sharing my DSL connection between 2 computers with XP on both.
Made some changes playing with remote console and now cannot get the internet sharing back.
did not save that point, regretibly so.
But I know it can be done with with a simple hub Lan setup.
I have my Lan going thru a simple hub connecting with an Alcatel DSl usb modem into the server. The client is connected via the hub, each computer having an NiC with cat 5 cable into the hub.
The Lan is up and running ok.
I selected sharing this connection for the Intenet connection and checked all the sharing options...printer, file, allow others..., etc
What other parameters am i missing in order to share the Inet connection?
The weird thing is the client machine shows that the BellSouth Inet is connected and sending and receiving.
Even the firewall is blocking stuff. But IExplorer will not connect. Neither will MSexplorer.
Tried rebooting and renaming workgroups. That was to no avail.
Any foolish or wise suggestion will be appreciated.
