Anybody know how to share internet on a windows 98 non-SE machine?

machine #1: Windows 98 non-se, with nic and modem (connects to inet with modem)
machine #2: w2k, nic

I have a 5 port hub to connect them

Any body have any ideas?

can you put the modem in the 2k box? internet sharing in 2k is very easy. just check the box that says "share this internet connection" and it configures everything for you.

There are plenty of third party programs for sharing an internet connection. WinGate comes to mind. I think there is a WinProxy as well. NAT32 was a popular one before the cheap Linksys and Netgear routers took over as the mainstream way of sharing an internet connection.

I would do as ddiccico suggested and move the modem to the w2k box, it's much easier that way...but if you need to have the modem on w98 non-se then you could use a free program by AnalogX Proxy to share your internet connection. Very easy to use and best of all it's FREE!

I've tried a couple and neither worked as well or was as easy to set up as what's built into win2k.
