Some of the stuff I did to get it working on difficult PC's.

Dont specify the client PC's IP. Have it obtain one automatically. If there are no other pc's on the network, and your netowrk is working like it should, it should grab 192.168.0.2 anyway.

Specify the host pc as the DNS server in the DNS settings tab on the client pc. Put the host pc's IP in the default gateway box.

I've never set it up on a system with two NIC's, there's probably another step there. ICS is basically a NAT server, so the client pc shouldn't need any settings at all to work.

Is Windows Me installed on both machines? If so, did you install internet connection sharing on both machines because you aren't supposed to. You are supposed to run it on the one that has the modem and it will create a disk to be used for the rest of the computers on the network. If only one machine has Me and the other has 98 or something then the modem needs to be in the Me machine and the internet connection sharing should be installed there and not in the other machine. The disk sets everything up on the second machine.

Ok this is how I have my cable set up.So it may not work. Clear everything in your gateway tab,put disable DNS, Under wins configuration click use dhcp for wins resolution, and under ip addresses put obtain ip address automatically. Make sure under your identification tab that you have the right computer name and workgroup name. Although this may not apply with DSL. The other computer name should be something like 324234-a so the other comp should be 324234-b.

Edit: If using DHCP for wins resolution doesnt work just disable wins resolution. And I almost forgot. When you restart the computer. Each time you change something go down to start, then go to run, then type in winipcfg
This will show you all your network stuff, hit release, then hit renew. Then try to get on the internet.
