I have Computer A with windows 98 connected to internet wirelessly i just got another Computer B with windows XP professional and does not have a wirless card. What is the best way to use internet on computer B using Computer A's connection?
ICS only works in 98SE and above. If you have plain old 98, you'll need to upgrade regardless.
You can install a network card in each, and share the connection according to the FAQ.
skyking: Can you please elaborate this a little. Yesterday i networked both of my computers using a crossover wire. You are saying it is still not possible to use internet connection until i upgrade to windows 98 SE or higher.
Question 2: I am using a crossover wire to link two computers. I cannot see shared c: drive of windows xp from the computer that has windows 98 but i can access it's c: drive from the computer that has windows XP?
Once you reconfigure every thing go over the sharing.
Important For the purpose of the initial setting, disable all software Firewall (including WinXP native
ICF); disable any active Virus scan or any other utility that might intercept Network Traffic.
