Internet search for non-dummies

I tend to use google but it more and more tries to guess what I might have wanted to say instead of searching for the terms I enter. And it always directs me to sites in the country I am searching from, when I want to search the whole internet.

Is there an internet search provider that:
- Gives high quality results
- can be set to search for the search terms
- Can be set to search the internet without taking country of origin into consideration. Or if not can be set to USA.
