Internet screws up when I Plug in this one computer...

For some reason, the internet doesn't work when I plug in one of my computers. When I unplug the computer from the system, it's totally fine. I just came back from a LAN party, and there the same thing happened. The internet got FUBARed for everyone when I plugged my computer in, and then it went back to normal when I unplugged it. What could possibly cause this? I'm pretty sure I have no trojans, but I scanned just in case.

Some changes I did that might have caused this-
Set the regional settings to japanese

Well, I think that's all I did actually. But I'm pretty sure regional settings would have no affect on the internet. Also, in the status for my network connection it looks like its sending a lot of packets but its receiving almost none. I can still access my control panel fine though, which is weird.

Have you set the TCP/IP settings to obtain IP-adress and DNS automatically?

that's one of the most common causes for internet problems. But even if I didn't do that, it would just affect my internet, when I plug my computer onto the internet, it screws up everyone else's internet. When I unplug the ethernet, it goes back to normal. It's pretty vexing.

As I said, when I look on the router, my port is always beeping for some reason and the status says its sending a lot of packets but receiving almost none. This might be a symptom or a cause, I don't know

Download/Run winsockfix

Are you sure you have a good cable? I'm guessing you don't get a valid IP address when you plugin either, probably a 169...

I don't think its a cable problem. Like I said, I tried the same thing at a friends house with his cable, and it messed up his network too.

Funny thing is, home networking still works, I can still share files and such.

P.S. what does winsockfix do?

It will reset everything to do with networking basically.

Otherwise, try another NIC.

I have both of my computers using obtain DNS automatically.

This could be a network driver, or the setup on how the network is configured.

Or you could have some kind of stinking virus or worm that can crash the network.

Have you updated windows lately?
