I have an ADSL connection and it seems to drop out all the time.
I can boot up my computer and surf check e-mails etc, but If I leave the computer sit for a hour or so my web browsers and email programs say they can not connect or find the pages I am looking for.
If I reboot the computer I can get back to surfing etc straight away.
But leave it alone same thing again as above.
The connection is permanent and handled completely by the modem.
I am running windows xp with a 2.6 athlon and 1.2gig of ram.

Sounds like spyware to me

Get Spybot and Adaware... see if you find stuff.. if you do you might need to do an LSPfix and then a Winsock repair.

Good luck, if it is spyware it can be a b!tch

Thanks
I run adawre and spybot at least once a week plus reg mechanic and others and they all come up with nothing.
I did a LSPfix and a Winsock repair and I will wait and see if they worked.
Thanks again

Who is your ISP? You might want to try contacting them about your connectivity issues.

LSPfix and Winsock repair did not work.
I'm in australia and my ISP is IInet.
But i don't think its a problem with them because I have a linux server and its runing quite fine.
I did notice that my usage meter, antivirus and some other programs that need a permanent connection seem to be fine.
