Internet problems , please read ......... (slow page loading)

Just installed a new Creative Modem Blaster & am having a wierd problem with the internet .
I connect at 45.2 - 50.6 kbps & everything works fine except the SLOWER than usual page loading . The modem seems to stop responding & it takes 4-6 times longer to finish loading a page . Sometime the page will timeout & will say that "page cannot be loaded"

Sys specs :

Win2000 Pro
Intel D850emv2
Intel 2.26/533
2 x256mb Samsung pc800 rdram
PNY Quadro4 750XGL
Maxtor 60gb
Modem Blaster v.92

Newest drivers for everything & up to date on all Microsoft updates also .


Anyone have any ideas ?

Try this. Find the appropriate string and disable v.92.

For one , I should'nt have to disable the string for it's backward compatible with v.90 & v.92 .
Also , I used the modem on another computer & it worked fine . Put an older 56k modem in the Intel machine & everything's back to normal .

Will exchange the Creative Modem Blaster for a Zoom model or equivalent ......................



Any suggestions ?
