Internet problem with XP

I just got a new computer with XP. Every few minutes, I can't connect to the internet. I have to go to the network settings tab and use the "repair" button for the adapter. That fixes it, but it is very annoying having to do it all the time. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening and how to fix this?

As far as I can tell the "Repair" button just renews your IP. Next time try renewing it yourself.
Start-->Run-->cmd
then type 'ipconfig /renew' then try the internet.

If it works then either your ISP is giving you a VERY short lease or your nic isn't holding it. Newer drivers maybe?
