Internet problem with my new desktop...

Okay I use a Wireless G PCI Adapter to connect to the internet from my new computer...I noticed the signal strength is always very low or low and the speed always fluctuates...like for example it can be anywhere from 2mbps-54mbps...its a brand new computer and installed winxp home edition SP2...i've always used sp1 before this
 
If you client Wireless is a little away and the Antenna is stuck between the case and the wall this is what you get.
