Ok Hello there and thanks for looking at this post. Hopefully you can help.

Here it goes, my friend has a k7s5a motherboard that has a built-in lan device. I have tons of problems getting to web pages (have att broadbang high speed) I can try to get on MSN.com and it will not load. Try agian and will not load. Try for the forth time and wham it loads fast. I can not get to ameritrade.com,hp.com and all sorts of other web pages. I lowered my security settings and let in all cookies but it does not do a thing. I can get onto microsoft.com slow but download file at fast speeds. It seems that I can download files fast but I can not get to web pages. I called ATT and they suggested I get the 128BIT encyrption patch. Didn't work either. Anyone have a suggestion. Win98se was just clean installed last night to see if that was the problem. I am sure that the Network stack it set up correctly. Oh ya I put my LAN card in also(IntelPRO 10/100) and that didn't help either. Could it be the MOBO? I can't beleive it is a hardware problem. I would think it is in software or internet setting!!!

Download DrTCP: <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.dslre
ports.com/front/DRTCP021.exe">http://www.dslreports.com/front/DRTCP021.exe</a>

Run the proggie, it will show the current settings of TCP/IP parameters. Write them down.

You can change any variable that you want, click Apply, and reboot the computer, if no good; you can always change to your original values.

Start with:

MaxMTU - 1500

Tcp Receive - 255552

Window Scaling - Yes

Time Stamping - No

Selective Acks - Yes

Path MTU Discovery - Yes.

Black Hole - NO

Max Duplicate - 2

TTL - 64

Of course YMMV.
