In my opinion, they can't lock this scum bag up long enough.
Comfort faces more charges here and in Onondaga County

(April 26, 2003) ? The former Greece man involved in likely the largest Internet predator case in Monroe County history was sentenced Friday to the maximum term allowed -- 20 years in prison.
James E. Comfort, 28, was sentenced separately on 13 counts for having sex with three underage girls he met in Internet chat rooms and one he met on a telephone chat line. Monroe County Court Judge Richard Keenan ordered seven of the sentences involving the statutory rape charges to run consecutively. Comfort will be eligible for parole in 10 years.
A jury in March acquitted Comfort of the two most serious charges, which alleged he forcibly raped one of the girls in April 2002.
Monroe County District Attorney Howard Relin said Monroe County Court has had other cases involving men targeting girls and women over the Internet. But Comfort?s case involves the most victims Relin has seen, he said.
?The defendant preyed on emotionally needy girls and did so indiscriminately. All his actions focused on the same goal -- sexual exploitation,? Monroe County Assistant District Attorney Douglas Randall said at Comfort?s sentence hearing.
Comfort?s attorney, John Parrinello, said the state?s statutory rape laws are antiquated because they do not place enough blame on the girls who put themselves in precarious situations.
Relin discounted that argument.
?Young women and young men are impressionable,? Relin said. ?To suggest it?s the fault of the law is one of the most ludicrous arguments I?ve ever heard.?
One girl had an ongoing relationship with Comfort for months. The other three said they had sex with Comfort once.
A trial date has yet to be scheduled on a second indictment in Monroe County that alleges Comfort had sex with five more underage girls he met on the Internet. Also, Comfort was indicted this month in Onondaga County on nine counts including first-degree rape for an incident that allegedly happened in Syracuse while he was out on bail in February. No trial date has been set.
