I found my wife online, just chatting on a web chat site.
Sure I couldn't find a local wife I had to reach all the way out to Canberra, Australia![]()

CT2TXtech I definitely think it's a possibility. How well do you typically know a lil shawty you see at the checkout counter or wherever and hit on her? Either way you have to learn the good and the bad of the person. The only difference is one you met in person and the other you didn't.
Also, I think you reveal much more about yourself initially online than you would in person. The semi-anonymity allows you to be more free in discussing your feelings.
LOL..yes, it's easy to get the ole booty call online but love takes a little more work.

This is unbelievable. She flew all the way from Australia not even knowing you in person or you did? Heck, it's like a fairytale come true.
Neither of us were chatting online to find a spouse or even relationship. Just to meet other people and kill some dead time.
She visited here 3 summers on a row (90 days each visit) after knowing her (and speaking with her parents) for 3.5 years I proposed, she accepted, my family flew to Australia and we got married. This was 2 years 2 months ago.

My wife and I met through a mutual friend who thought we'd like eachother. We maintained a relationship online at first, and then on the phone. When she finished grad school, she moved out here, and we were married a year later. It can work. They're the same people you'd meet in person. Just take it slow, so you get to know the real person, not their online persona.
too easy for online booty. Man i have so many stories, but that is another forum and another topic

I think what really made us stand out from the typical internet love couple was we never intended to find love online. We just started chatting, become pen pals, emailed a few times, chatted online a lot, then IM, then on the phone.

Mine's pretty much the same way, started out with e-mail, then phone. I've been out there three times, she's been here three times, & she's going to be here next week.

She visited here as a friend, next as a girlfriend, then as a girlfriend again, next time I saw her we were getting married.
Get to know each other, take it nice and slow, if the chemistry is there ... things should work out.

Too bad that couldn't work out for me, I don't believe in friendship between a man and a woman and would never seek one. Heck, what kind of a friendship is that if we don't have anything in common?
