Internet issues on Vista Home Premium

On my new install of Windows Home Premium x64 many times when I click on links in both IE and Firefox the browswer will immediately give the "page cannot be displayed" message, and I will need to refresh a couple of times to get it to load. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the internet connection, because it loads fast when it does load and there are hundreds of PCs on this network without issue.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
