Internet is blocked if bittorent is up for 5 min???

I have a Linksys WRT54G router V3.1 with the latest firmware from Linksys.
Laptop is plugged into the LAN from the router. First couple of days its was fine, but now if azureus is up for 5 min it almost blocks all internet activity. I cannot even access the router set up page.
As soon as I shut azureus down, everythings fine. And its not like azureus is runnng at a crazy speed - its downloading at ~40KB/s, upload at 25KB/s. Internet download speeds give my connection as 2400Kbits/s (after shutting down azureus)

Anyone know whats the deal with this?
