Internet fax. Questions?

I'm wondering if you folks in the world of ATOT have any experience with internet fax. Any recommendation on software or internet service(s) without breaking the bank?

I find that gmail is a great internet faxing machine. It works fine on my time warner cable.

I use gotfreefax to send out faxes over internet. It has worked thus far. As fro receiving, I have a free efax account, but from what I heard, they stopped them for new customers.

I use RingCentral. Just an eFax line is $10/month, but I have voip line from them as well.

Sorry for asking a completely legitimate question. I don't know what you need a fax service for. I don't know if you're faxing confidential information and need to have a solution that provides some level of security. I don't know if you're looking for something for person use or something for a business. If it's a business, you didn't tell us what kind of infrastructure you need to integrate with.

Sorry...I forgot to take off my IT hat when I entered ATOT. I guess a more appropriate ATOT response to your original post would have been: "lulz who stil uses fax. email ftw! brb just collected my weekly $50k paycheck...gonna go grab some hookers and blow for the weekend!!!!"

I only use fax when people demand it of me. I'd much rather send a .pdf over email but some people still don't want to do this. Amazing. When I do fax it's from work. I've used the free fax services. They're free because they spam the recipient with adverts.

I had to sign something for my credit union, the lady there emailed me the form. I replied back and said I would sign it and email it back when she got home. Not understanding, she replied that I could not email it back because it had to be signed and I must fax it.

Later I opened the Word 2003 doc she sent me, inserted my signature .jpg, saved it as a PDF and emailed it back to her. She was astounded such wizardry and magic were even possible and asked me how I accomplished such a feat. Amazing.
